The Regatta History and UA-Visions Start

The Charleston Sternwheel Regatta, an event that resonates deeply with tradition and exhilaration, is a cultural highlight in Charleston, West Virginia. I’ve seen firsthand how this annual festival has grown into a much-anticipated event, attracting visitors from all walks of life. Revived joyously in 2022 after a brief hiatus, it quickly reclaimed its status as an award-winning celebration, enriching the local community. As an attendee, you can expect a delightful array of entertainment ranging from sternwheel boat races to lively concerts and culinary contests, all set against the picturesque backdrop of the Kanawha River.

It was in 2022 when we started our annual coverage of the Charleston Sternwheel Regatta. Taking on this multi-day event marked a significant milestone for our team that brought on many challenges. From navigating the event schedule to making sure we provided the best photo and video content we possibly could proved stessfull. Thankfully, the Charleston CVB have always been great to work with, making our work seem a lot less like ‘work’.
